Global
Development Forum (GDF): National and Regional Mandate
Established
in 1996, GDF is registered as a national non-governmental
organization with the MoSD. GDF as a local organization aspires
to contribute to the national priorities in social development, namely:
poverty alleviation, employment generation, children's welfare, women's
welfare, gender equity and environmental preservation.
GDF
also operates a regional office in Amman, which is linked to its parent
organization established in the State of Maryland, U.S.A. The Regional
Office is also registered with the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom
of Jordan with a mandate to work throughout the Middle East region. In
this capacity, GDF devotes its resources to delivering
international and regional seminars, workshops and training events in an
effort to impart a knowledge of "State of the Art Technology"
and best practices in the area of economic development, institutional
strengthening and the building of technical skills. In this respect, GDF
co-ordinates its activities with a number of bilateral and multilateral
development agencies such as The World Bank, USAID, UNDP and the EU.
GDF's Regional Office receives generous professional advice and
technical assistance from its U.S. based members of the Executive Board
and the Advisory Committee.
